Uttara Kannada formulates safety measures for SSLC, PUC
Karwar, Dec 23, 2020: With just a week for the commencement of SSLC and PUC classes, Uttara Kannada district administration has initiated all necessary precautionary measures.
Officials have contacted School Development and Management Committees and the principals asking to ensure cleanliness and sanitization.
Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO M Priyanga clarified that while classes will commence for SSLC and II PUC students from January 1, attending classes will not be compulsory.
She was addressing a press conference at her office on Wednesday.
“As per the state government’s decision SSLC and IIPUC classes will commence from January 1. But attendance will not be compulsory,” she said.
“Interested students should get a permission letter from their parents. Classes will be for half day. There will not be mid-day meals. Ration would be provided to the house,” she said.
She also said that the following SOP will be made compulsory for the Vidyagama program that too would start from January 1. Vidyagama program will start for students from 6th to 9th standard.
A team of 15 students will be formed. Each team will have a class once in two days.
She said that health checkup camps are held in schools and colleges. The heads of institutions and SDMCs have been asked to sanitize and maintain cleanliness in the school and college premises.
“As all these precautionary measures are taken, parents and the teachers need not worry,” she added.
