Attempt to rob: Four arrested
Mangaluru, Nov 23: Police have arrested four persons in connection to the robbery attempt case at Nidigal in Belthangady Taluk.
The incident took place on November 13 when robbers allegedly tried to rob the house of Subhaschandra Jain.
Following the complaint filed at Dharmasthala Police station, two teams led by CPI Belthangady and PSI Dharmasthala were formed.
Based on a tipoff, the police zeroed in Irfan (28) of Melkar and Mohammed Tausif (26) of Arkula village and took them into custody. Based on their information, two others- Chidananda Gowda (25) of Belal village and Mohan (32) of Kalmanja village were arrested.
The arrested four were involved in the case and few more are said to be absconding.
The police have seized two cars, swords, and iron rods apart from cash and mobiles.
Background: It was around 2 am on the intervening night of November 13-14 when robbers approached the house of Subhaschandra Jain of Nidigal in Belthagady Taluk.
When the dog barked, the scared gang allegedly killed it and tried to break open the back door. The family members of Subhaschandra Jain got up from the sleep when they heard sound outside and raised their voice. Listening to this, the gang escaped from this spot in the vehicle they had come.
The police team involved in the operation: Belthangady CPI Sandesh PG, Dharmasthala PSI Pavan Nayak, Chandrashekhar K, and personnel- Thomas E G, Bennichan, Vishwanath Naik, Viju M G, Rajesh N, Praveen, Ibrahim Gardadi, Abdul Lathif, Pramod Naik, Mohammed Aslam, Rahul and Diwakar and Sampath of Computer section.
