Kaup, Nov 20: Kaup police raided an illegal slaughterhouse and rescued two calves at Mallar village on Friday morning.

Kaup Sub Inspector Raghavendra C received information that few people were set to slaughter cattle at Mallar village.

Based on this information the police team raided the spot. The police arrested three persons- Mohammed Irfan (38), Mohammed Iqbal (40), and Mohammed Iqbal (44) of Mallar.

Jahir who was along with them escaped from the spot.

According to the police, the accused said that they had slaughtered one cattle and transported the beef in an auto-rickshaw. The police rescued 2 calves and seized 35 kg of beef.

They also seized the rickshaw and other tools used for the act.
A case under Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
