Kasturba Medical College observes World Diabetic Day
Udupi, Nov 14: Department of Endocrinology of Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, Manipal observed World Diabetes Day, uniquely through sand art display at Malpe beach.
“India has the second-highest number of diabetics patients. More concern is in that 2/3rd of the patients from south India,” KMC Dean Dr. Sharat K Rao told after unveiling the sand sculpture.
“This year theme is ‘Nurse and Diabetes’. Nurses play a key role in providing lifelong care for people with diabetes,” he said.
Mr. C G Muthana, Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent jointly inaugurated the selfie stand. Dr. Sahana Shetty, Head, Department of Endocrinology provided an overview of the unique program.
