SDPI launches ‘Jago Kisan’ campaign
Mangaluru, Oct 20: The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) initiated a massive movement against the anti-farmer legislation passed by the State and Central government.
The party has launched a nationwide campaign ‘Jago Kisan,’ campaign with the slogan ‘Krishi Samhara-BJP Hunnara.’
The district-level program was inaugurated at Kadaba on October 10. SDPI Jago Kisan Campaign district in-charge Antony PD handed over the party flag to SDPI Kadaba Taluk president Ramla.
After the Padayatra, the campaign was given momentum by harvesting the paddy crop at a field in Kalara.
SDPI district president Athavulla Jokatte presided over the event. SDPI state vice president Advocate Majeed Khan, Karnataka Raith Sangha Hasiru Sene District president and state committee member Suresh Bhat Kojambe, Karnataka Raitha Sangha Hasiru Sene Kadaba taluk president Victor Martis, JDS leader Sayyed Mira Saheb, and others spoke on the occasion.
SDPI district general secretary Shahul Hamid, Dalit leader SDPI district committee member Anand Mittabail, Corporator Munib Bengre, PFI Uppinangady Zone president Hamid Majestic, SDPI district secretary Iqbal Bellare and others were present.
