INTUC to protest infront of MESCOM office

Mangaluru, Oct 10: Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) will stage a protest in front of MESCOM Bejai against the decision of removing 167-meter readers.

These employees are working on a contract basis for the past 12 years.

Addressing reporters INTUC legal adviser Dinakar Shetty condemned the move of removing these employees.

“The 167-meter readers in Bantwal and Puttur Zone who were working for 12 years are thrown to streets. When we met the MESCOM officials on October 10, we had requested to solve the problem in ten days. But it has not yet been done. Thus protest is necessary,” he said.
