Vedavyas Kamath asks police to curb cattle theft
Mangaluru, Oct 07: Mangaluru City South MLA Vedavyas Kamath has asked the police department to curb illegal cattle transportation and cattle theft in the district.
“Cattle is sacred for Hindus. Hundreds of families depend on dairy farming in the Dakshina Kannada district. Cattle theft has brought them to the streets,” he said.
“There is a network of thieves who rob cattle from the temples and cow sheds by threatening people. This may lead to tension in the region. The police department should therefore take put an end to the illegal transport and theft of cattle and also the illegal slaughterhouses,” he added.
