Karkala man held for making hoax call to Mangaluru Airport

Mangaluru, Aug 20: A person from Karkala in Udupi has been arrested for making a hoax bomb call to Mangaluru Airport.

On August 19 afternoon, a former director of the airport received a phone call from an unknown number. The person informed about a bomb at the airport.

On proper search the officials found it to be a hoax call. 

Meanwhile, the police who had started tracking the call finally traced the person who had made the phone call.

Officials said that the person has been identified as Vasanth from Udupi district. He is likely to be produced before the court by evening today. 

The preliminary information available states that Vasanth is working as an agricultural laborer and does not have any criminal records in the past.
