COVID-19: 3rd death in Udupi, 93 cases along coast
Udupi: Udupi district recorded third COVID death and nine new COVID cases on Tuesday.
Udupi DC G Jagadeesh said that the nine include 2 drivers on the Kundapur-Bengaluru route and also a cloth store owner.
He said that a 48-year-old person who had come from Mumbai had died and tested COVID positive.
“He had liver disease due to alcohol. He had undergone treatment at Mumbai. But when he came to Udupi our officials were not informed about it. The swab was collected after death and he is tested positive,” he added.
Dakshina Kannada: The district recorded 44 positive cases on Tuesday. Of these 21 are contacts of the patients. Nine with influenza-like illness and three with severe acute respiratory infection tested positive. Meanwhile, three Bengaluru returnees, 2 Saudi Arabia returnees, and one Maharashtra returnee have tested positive. The source of five patients is yet to be traced.
Uttara Kannada: The number of COVID increased with 40 new cases on Tuesday.
Of these 21 cases are reported from Bhatkal, 8 from Haliyal, 5 from Ankola, and 4 from Kumta. Two cases were reported from Mundagod.
