One more from Bantwal Taluk tested COVID-19 positive
A 47-year-old woman (P-501) from Narikombu village in Bantwal Taluk has been tested positive, according to the health bulletin. The afternoon health bulletin mentions only one positive case in the state.
The woman is said to be the staff of the hospital where the 75-year-old (P-432) was under treatment in Mangaluru. P-432 who too hails from Bantwal was tested positive on Thursday afternoon and died on the same day without responding treatment.
Following this the district administration had quarantined and tested all those who were in contact with her. The hospital where she was under treatment too was declared as Containment Zone.
Now, the 47-year-old (P-501) who was one of the contacts with the P-432 has been tested positive. She was working as sweeper in the hospital.
With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the DK district has increased to 19. Of this 5 are active and others have been discharged from hospital.
Bantwal Taluk has recorded five positive cases in one week. Of this one patient died on Sunday and other on Wednesday.
