The baby boy hails from Sajipanadu village of Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada. In the first week of March, the child and the mother had been to their relative’s house at Monetepadau village.
After returning the child developed an acute respiratory illness and was admitted to the hospital. The doctors sent the swabs to the lab. On March 27 the lab declared the child as COVID-19 positive.
Treating the child was itself a major challenge for the team of doctors from Wenlock District Hospital and private hospitals.
But the Doctors who took the challenge provided the best treatment and in about two weeks, the child has recovered.
Officials said that the child has been discharged along with his mother and grandmother were tested negative.
The Sajipanadu village was completely sealed after the child was tested positive. However, no other positive case has been reported from this village.
