RADCON’25 Bridges Academia and Industry in Advancing Radiation Science

Mangaluru, Nov 10, 2025: The Department of Medical Imaging Technology, Srinivas Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SIAHS), Srinivas University, organised RADCON’25 – National Conference on “Radiation in Health: Academic–Industrial Interaction” in collaboration with the Indian Society for Radiation Biology (ISRB) at the Mukka campus.
The conference aimed to promote collaboration between academia and industry in advancing research and innovation in radiation sciences and healthcare.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University and President of A. Shama Rao Foundation, while Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, Pro-Chancellor and Vice President of the Foundation, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Madhu Bala, President of ISRB, former Director of DIBER–DRDO, and ex-Additional Director of INMAS, Delhi, DRDO, was the Chief Guest.
Distinguished dignitaries including Smt. A. Vijayalakshmi R. Rao, Prof. Er. Smt. A. Mitra S. Rao, Dr. K. Satyanarayana Reddy (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Anil Kumar (Registrar), and Prof. Pavana Krishnamoorthy (Dean, SIAHS) graced the event. The conference was convened by Mr. Savin K. Vidyan, supported by Mr. Suveen Yoel Sudharshan, Ms. Aishwarya Shetty, Ms. Reshmi M.V., and Ms. Anagha Balakrishnan.
RADCON’25 featured a series of scientific sessions by eminent experts on emerging areas of radiation technology, imaging, and biomedical science. Key topics included Advancements in MRI Technology by Mr. Karthik S. (Yenepoya School of Allied Health Sciences), CT and MRI: Clinical Perspectives by Mr. S. Thulasi Dass (Sri Ramachandra Institute, Chennai), and Radiation Biology and Health Effects by Dr. Madhu Bala. Other sessions explored Biomedical Research Innovations, Radiation-Induced Biochemical Changes, and Human Genetics in Radiation Research.


The one-day conference drew participation from over 400 delegates representing various institutions across India. It also hosted 26 oral and 42 e-poster presentations for undergraduate and postgraduate students under the theme “Harnessing Radiation for Health: Imaging Innovations and Therapeutic Breakthroughs.” Presentations highlighted new research trends and case studies in medical imaging and radiation technology.
Faculty members from reputed institutions served as guest judges, ensuring academic rigor and fairness in the competition. Separate sessions for UG and PG participants promoted scholarly engagement and constructive feedback.
The conference fostered dynamic interaction between researchers, academicians, and industry professionals, emphasizing the translational potential of radiation research. Organized in honour of World Radiology Day, RADCON’25 reaffirmed Srinivas University’s commitment to advancing education, research, and innovation in radiation and medical imaging sciences.
The event concluded with the message that such academic–industrial collaborations are vital for developing next-generation healthcare technologies and nurturing a research-driven learning ecosystem.
