Mangaluru, Feb 02, 2025: The District Skill Mission meeting was held on January 31 at the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat hall.

Presiding over the meeting, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anandh K stated that under the state government’s Yuva Nidhi Plus initiative, beneficiaries of the Yuva Nidhi scheme will receive free skill training. He directed eligible beneficiaries to approach authorized training centers, including Karnataka German Technical Training Institute (KGTTI), the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Karnataka (CEDOK), and government tool rooms and training centers.

Dr. Anandh K further announced that the Yuva Nidhi scheme has been extended to students who graduated in 2024. To facilitate enrollment, registration centers will be set up in all degree, diploma, and engineering colleges, along with special registration drives. He instructed officials to inform the respective taluk-level guarantee committees to ensure the success of the registration campaign.

Encouraging job seekers, he urged SSLC, PUC, ITI, diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate students to participate in upcoming government-organized job fairs in the district. He also invited industrial establishments to actively take part in these fairs and utilize the available talent pool.

To support employment opportunities through professional short-term skill training, the state government has invited proposals from industries seeking official approval. Dr. Anandh K called upon all industrial organizations to submit their proposals to the District Skill Development Office for necessary approvals.

ZP Deputy Secretary Jayalakshmi, District Skill Development Officer Pradeep D’Souza, Joint Director of CEDOK Aravind D. Baleri, RUDSET Director Ajay, Canara Industrial Association Vice President M.D. Poojari, KCCI representative Maitriya A, and other officials were present at the meeting.
