Mangaluru, Dec. 9, 2024: The much-awaited Karavali Utsav is set to commence in Mangaluru on December 21. This decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M.P. at the district administration office on Monday.

The inaugural event will be held at the Karavali Utsav Grounds in the city on December 21. The occasion will spotlight Dakshina Kannada’s vibrant cultural heritage, featuring the district’s traditions, language, and diverse festivities. Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugilan stated that efforts are underway to collaborate with various cultural academies to ensure the programs reflect the district’s unique identity.

As part of the celebration, a Beach Festival will be organized at Panambur and Tannirbavi beaches on December 28 and 29. The event promises exciting attractions for attendees. On January 4 and 5, Kadri Park will host the Youth Festival, featuring captivating cultural performances by college students and youth groups. An International Kite Festival is also scheduled for January 17 and 18, aiming to attract kite enthusiasts and visitors alike.

Adding to the festivities, a Food Fair showcasing a variety of local delicacies will be set up at the Karavali Utsav Grounds, providing a feast for food lovers. Additionally, a River Festival will be held in Harekala, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the rivers and surrounding landscape.

To ensure the success of Karavali Utsav, multiple committees have already been formed, and members have been directed to begin preparations immediately. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this year’s festival will stand out with unique and crowd-pulling programs, curated by a blend of government officials and professional artists.

The meeting was attended by Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anand K., DCP Siddarth Goyal, Additional SP Rajendra, Additional DC Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Moodbidri Commissioner Noor Jahan, and other officials.

With an exciting lineup of events and activities, this year’s Karavali Utsav is set to be a grand celebration of culture, tradition, and entertainment, promising a memorable experience for both residents and visitors.
