Udupi’s Spectacular ‘Sapthotsava’ Unveils Divine Splendor
Udupi, Jan 09, 2024: The sacred precincts of Udupi resonated with the celestial energy as the annual festivity, ‘Sapthotsava,’ unfolded at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha. The event marked the beginning of the seven-day ‘Utsava’ celebration prior to Makara Sankranthi.
Despite rain, devotees gathered to participate in the event.
In a divine procession reminiscent of celestial harmonies, the ‘Chikka Ratha’ (Small Chariot) bore the divine essence of Sri Anantheshwara and Sri Chandramauleeshwara, while the ‘Garuda Ratha’ Chariot exuded magnificence with the revered figures of Sri Krishna and Sri Mukhyaprana seated atop.
The ‘Utsava Murthy’ of Udupi Sri Krishna emerged in regal splendor in a Golden Palanquin. The ‘Teppotsava’ and the majestic ‘Rathotsava’ followed suit, leaving spectators in awe of the spiritual spectacle.
Gracing the occasion were eminent spiritual leaders, including Paryaya Peetadhipati Sri Vidyasagara Tirtha Sripadaru, Palimaru Matha’s Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha Sripadaru, Pejawara Matha’s Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Sripadaru, Kaniyooru Matha’s Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha Sripadaru, Adamaru Matha’s Sri Eeshapriya Tirtha Sripadaru, and the Junior pontiff of Palimar Matha, Sri Vidyarajeshwara Tirtha Sripadaru.
