University Evening College Celebrates World Environment Day
Mangaluru, June 06, 2023: The NSS Cell of University Evening College, Mangaluru, observed the global event of “World Environment Day” on June 5th, 2023, within the serene premises of the University College Campus. The celebration witnessed distinguished guests who embodied the importance of environmental consciousness.
Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Ramakrishna B M, Coordinator of Economics at University College, Mangaluru, and former Principal of University Evening College, demonstrated his deep respect for the environment by planting a sapling. His actions served as an illuminating reminder of the need for utmost care, protection, and preservation of our natural surroundings.
Dr. Laxmidevi L, the esteemed Principal of the College, graced the occasion and reinforced the notion of environmental responsibility. Her involvement in planting a tree served as a powerful reminder of our collective duty to safeguard and preserve our cherished planet.
Notable attendees included Dr. Yathish, Coordinator of the diploma in GST, and Dr. Madhav M K, Coordinator of M.A Tulu, who observed the program, lending their expertise and support to the cause.
The program was successfully organized by NSS Program Officer Ashalatha, lecturer in Kannada. NSS student leaders Jeethesh and Sister Roopa Kamrekar were also present. The program attracted the participation of both teaching and non-teaching faculty members, as well as students, further underscoring the collective commitment towards environmental sustainability.
