Pratheeksha G Naik makes waves in Powerlifting
Karwar, March 13, 2023: Pratheeksha G Naik, daughter of Geeta G Naik, an Upper Division Clerk presently posted at Karwar Naval Base, has made Karnataka Naval Area proud by winning the gold medal and securing the Strong Women (junior) 2023 title at the Karnataka State Sub Junior, Junior and Masters Powerlifting Championship held at Kumta, Karnataka from 03 – 05 Mar 2023.
Rear Admiral Atul Anand, Flag Officer Commanding Karnataka Naval Area (FOK) along with all personnel of Karnataka Naval Area congratulated Miss Pratheeksha G Naik on her outstanding achievement. The prestigious award was presented by GIBB Boys – 89 & Health point, Kumta in association with Karnataka Powerlifting Association.
The award was presented by GIBB Boys – 89 & Health point, Kumta, in association with the Karnataka Powerlifting Association. The success has earned her a spot in the Indian team for the Asian Equipped Powerlifting Championship, which will take place in Alappuzha, Kerala, from May 1 to May 6, 2023.
Pratheeksha G Naik is an alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Karwar Naval Base. Her mother, Geeta G Naik, has been working in the Indian Navy as a Defence Civilian at Material Organisation, Karwar, since 2006, while her father, Ganapathi MS, works as an agriculturist in their native village in Shivamogga.
She has been an active athlete since childhood and started powerlifting in 2018.
