e-Pass facility to those involved in distribution of essential commodities
Karwar, April 07: To bring transparency and provide pass without any delay, the Uttara Kannada district administration has come out with an e-Pass facility.
The pass would be issued through the website designed by the National Information Center (NIC) district wing.
Movement of the people is restricted during LockDown. Passes are issued to those involved distribution of essential commodities.
Tahsildars distributes passes to the suppliers of essential commodities and the Deputy Commissioner had to give the pass to those who had to move out of the district on emergency work.
But the manual work resulted in a delay in issuing the pass. To put an end to this and also bring transparency the district administration has now started online service to issue pass.
How to get an e-pass?
Those who need pass should apply to Tahsildars along with a photo ID proof. The Tahsildar would review the application and upload the information online which would immediately go the Additional DC. He would grant the e-pass to the eligible. The Tahsildar would then print the e-pass at his office and distribute it to the applicant.
The website has been designed under the guidance of Shrikant Joshi, District Information Officer of the National Information Center (NIC), and developed by Additional District Information Officer (ADIO) Niju Abraham.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. K Harish Kumar has lauded the work of the NIC team.
