NCC Day celebrated at St Mary’s College
Shirva, Nov 27, 2021: The 73rd NCC Day was celebrated at St Mary’s College, Shirva on Saturday.
“Today, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) is one of the largest youth organizations in the world creating a sense of patriotism and discipline among the youth. NCC can help young people not only in social service, personality development, health but also find good employment opportunities. It is noteworthy that many of those who are in a good position were associated with NCC,” College Principal Dr. Herald Ivan Monis said in his presidential address.
In his introductory speech, NCC officer Lieutenant K Praveen Kumar said that the fourth Sunday of November every year is observed as NCC day.
Cadet Elrusha Milina D’Sa explained the purpose and significance of the program.
Cadets Dheeraj Acharya, Deepak, Mohit Salian, Janisia Noronha, Ria Serena D’Souza, Ratan Kumar Kotian, and Ashish Prasad who participated in various training program were felicitated. Various competitions were organized for the students.
Association Director Yashoda, Junior Under Officer Suraksha, faculty, administrative staff, and all cadets were present.
Cadet Sana Atiya read out the prize list, Senior Under Officer Vishal S Moolya welcomed the gathering and Junior Under Officer Harshita delivered the vote of thanks. Riya Ann Nevil compered the program.
