Belthangady records highest rainfall in the district
Belthangady, Aug 05: In the last 24 hours Belthangady taluk received highest rainfall in Dakshina Kannada district.
IMD had declared red alert in the district. The region is experiencing heavy rainfall since two days.
The data recorded on Wednesday morning shows that the district recorded an average rainfall of 88.3 mm.
Belthangady recorded highest rainfall of 123. 5 mm followed by Puttur (99.6 mm), Sullia (89.1 mm), Bantwal (78.3 mm). Mangaluru received the lowest with 51.2 mm.
Due to heavy rain accompanied by wind, trees were uprooted in several places resulting in power interruption in many places.
