Gold worth ₹ 57.14 lakh seized at Mangaluru Airport
Mangaluru, March 26, 2021: The Customs officers at Mangalore international Airport caught a person for smuggling 1.23 kg gold today.
Officials said that a case is registered against one Ismail Ahamad Kallar of Kasargod who arrived from Dubai on March 26 by Spicejet.
He was allegedly smuggling gold in powder form mixed with solid gum concealed in his undergarments and gold in form of crude chains. The total weight of these are 1.23 kgs and the value is ₹ 57,14,940.
The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kapil Gade. The crucial role of surveillance and interception was executed by Superintendents Shrikanth K, Nagesh Kumar and Naveen.
