CAMPCO lauds Chief Minister’s assurance on YLD
Mangaluru, March 05, 2021: CAMPCO has lauded the state government’s proposed package for the Yellow Lead Disease (YLD) affected farmers.
“It is heartening to note that the Chief Minister has proposed to set aside ₹ 25 crores package for the farmer’s plantations affected with Yellow Leaf Disease and towards research activities in finding a solution to YLD,” a press statement by CAMPCO stated.
“Responding to the delegation led by the Ministers S.Angara and Kota Srinivas Poojary, along with the affected area MLAs, the Chief Minister has proposed to set aside a package of ₹ 25 crores for tackling the Yellow Leaf Disease,” the press statement added.
The CAMPCO had recently organized a Workshop on Yellow Leaf Disease at Thodikana in Sullia which was presided over by Minister S.Angara. It was decided to impress upon the concerned officials and the Government to find a solution for the problem.
Accordingly, the CAMPCO president Kishore Kumar Kodgi had recently met the Chief Minister at his residence in Shivamogga and briefed on the hardships faced by the farmers whose plantations had been affected by the Yellow Leaf Disease.
CAMPCO had also submitted various representations to the MPs and MLAs of the affected areas to impress upon the Central and State Government to extend relief to the affected Farmers.
“Hence the proposed package to be set aside by the Government in its forthcoming Budget comes as a relief to the Farmers,” it added.
While extending its gratitude towards the State Government, CAMPCO intends to conduct a Symposium on Yellow leaf disease consisting of Experts and Scientists, to pave the way for finding a solution to end the Yellow Leaf Disease menace.
