Mangaluru, May 26, 2026: Srinivas University’s Research and Innovation Council organised a Research Conclave at Hotel Srinivas in Mangaluru on May 23, bringing together research scholars, guides and deans with the university’s Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and research administrators.

The conclave was inaugurated by Chancellor A. Srinivas Rao, who underlined the importance of research in societal progress and called for greater focus on innovation-driven academic work.

Addressing the gathering, he said research plays a crucial role in improving quality of life and cited technological progress in countries such as China as an example of how continuous research and innovation contribute to development. He stressed the need to strengthen research culture and promote both product-based and service-based research.

Member of the Board of Governors Meghana S. Rao highlighted the importance of translating research findings into societal benefit and said research should inspire positive change.

Vice-Chancellor Sathyanarayana Reddy appreciated the work of researchers and urged scholars to focus on multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies to enhance academic impact.

Registrar Anil Kumar emphasised the need to bring researchers from different disciplines onto a common platform, noting that collaborative research contributes to knowledge advancement and new discoveries.

Evaluation Registrar Srinivas Mayya D. encouraged scholars to broaden the scope of their studies and incorporate sustainable development goals into their research, while Development Registrar Ajay Kumar spoke on the growing relevance of research in spirituality and its potential contribution to society.

Research Director Praveen B M presented the university’s annual research report, including statistics on publications, patents and copyrights.

Research Coordinator Shailashree V.T. welcomed the gathering. Reena Ranjith proposed the vote of thanks, while Prof. Rohan Fernandes compered the programme.
