Karwar, Aug 06, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sajid Mulla has emphasized that all government departments in Uttara Kannada must work in coordination and unity to ensure the comprehensive and inclusive development of tribal communities in the district.

Speaking at the inauguration of a one-day orientation workshop for district-level officials under the Dharati Abha Janajatiya Grama Utkarsha Abhiyana, held at the CRIMS auditorium on Wednesday, Mulla stated that the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan should serve as the primary platform for integrated departmental efforts.

The workshop was jointly organized by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department of Scheduled Tribes Welfare.

Under this tribal development initiative, 31 villages across the taluks of Haliyal, Joida, Mundgod, and Bhatkal have been selected for focused interventions. Development projects tailored to improve the quality of life and ensure inclusive growth of tribal communities in these areas must be designed and implemented with the active participation of local residents, Mulla stressed.

He further directed officials to prioritize the provision of basic infrastructure, education, and healthcare facilities in tribal areas. Additionally, efforts must be made to generate employment and self-employment opportunities for the tribal population while ensuring effective delivery of government welfare schemes.

The ADC also called for regular community meetings with the participation of local organizations and self-help groups, to formulate and implement well-structured action plans. Training for officials at taluk, panchayat, and block levels through master trainers will be arranged to ensure the campaign’s successful execution across the district, he added.

Present at the event were CRIMS Director Dr. Poornima, District Scheduled Tribes Welfare Officer Y.K. Umesh, master trainers Narayan Bhagwat, Kumar, Ashok Pawar, Rangappa, and Kiran Manvachari, along with officers from various departments.
