 Make Use of the Health Services Available at Namma Clinic: MLA Yashpal Suvarna

Udupi, Aug 4, 2025: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna inaugurated a new Namma Clinic at Gundibailu Doddangudde in Udupi on Friday, aimed at delivering essential health services closer to residential areas, especially for the urban poor.

Speaking at the event, Suvarna said, “With Namma Clinics, people no longer need to travel far for basic healthcare. This initiative, jointly supported by the state and central governments, brings free health services to people’s doorsteps and also helps reduce the pressure on government hospitals.”

Udupi Taluk Health Officer Dr. Vasudev Upadhyay explained that the clinic will offer 12 types of primary health services. Each unit will have a doctor, lab technician, nurse, and Group D staff working from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.

Udupi Municipal Council President Prabhakar Poojary presided over the function. Other dignitaries present included Urban Development Authority Chairman Dinkar Herur, Taluk Guarantee Committee President Ramesh Kanchan, District Health Officer Dr. Basavaraj G. Hubballi, and KSSIDC Director Devi Prasad Shetty.

Local representatives, doctors, officials, and members of various organizations also attended the event. Health Education Officer Chandrakala compered the program and proposed the vote of thanks.
