Udupi: Dr TMA Pai Hospital to Hold Laparoscopic Surgery Camp from July 14–24
Udupi, July 11, 2025: Dr. TMA Pai Hospital in Udupi will organize a special Laparoscopic Surgery Camp from July 14 to July 24, running daily between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM. The initiative, supported by the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Surgical Gastroenterology & General Surgery, aims to make advanced surgical care more accessible and affordable to the community.
Laparoscopic surgery — often called keyhole surgery — offers several advantages over traditional open surgery, including smaller incisions, reduced pain, minimal scarring, faster recovery, and shorter hospital stays.
The camp is designed for patients with a range of conditions. Women facing gynaecological issues such as heavy or irregular periods, pelvic pain, fibroids, ovarian cysts, or infertility concerns may benefit from minimally invasive treatment options. The camp will also provide laparoscopic sterilisation procedures for women seeking permanent contraception.
In addition, the camp will cater to patients with common surgical problems such as hernias, gallbladder stones, appendicitis, and certain intestinal disorders. Hernias, for instance, often present as bulges in the abdomen or groin that become more noticeable during activities like standing or lifting.
As part of the camp benefits, free specialist consultations will be offered during the camp period. Patients will also receive a 20% discount on outpatient investigations and laparoscopic surgeries, valid up to August 31, 2025.
