Legislative Council Polls: Counting on Thursday
Mangaluru, Oct 23, 2024: The counting of votes for the by-election to the Dakshina Kannada Local Authorities Constituency of the Legislative Council will be held on Thursday. Arrangements for the counting process have been completed at St. Aloysius Pre-University College, Mangaluru.
The counting will commence at 8 am in the designated room, with the process taking place across 12 tables. Each table will have a supervisor, an assistant, and a member of the D-Group staff. A total of 392 ballot boxes will be distributed, with 33 boxes assigned to each table.
In the initial phase, the total votes will be counted and mixed. This will be followed by verification of ballot validity, after which the counting of first-preference votes will begin.
The candidate securing the required quota of first-preference votes will be declared elected.
On Monday, 5,906 voters cast their ballots across 392 polling stations.
