Competitions Help Students Understand Their Potential: Dr. Ravish Padumale
Ujire, October 10, 2024: Participating in various competitions is crucial for students as it helps them understand themselves better, said Dr. Ravish Padumale, Head and Associate Professor of the Civil Engineering Department at SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Crescita Fest organized by the Chemistry Department’s ‘Spatika Association’ at SDM College today (October 10).
“Engaging in events like Crescita not only contributes to personality development but also offers students opportunities to learn beyond classroom teachings,” Dr. Padumale added. He emphasized the importance of students adopting valuable qualities and respecting parents and teachers, stating that only with a strong foundation in culture and values can one’s life become an inspiration for others.
The event was presided over by the college principal, Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, who highlighted the importance of having a clear goal in life. “Achieving a goal is not an easy task. It requires the cultivation of specific skills and qualities. Fests like Crescita provide students a platform to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and challenges. If we work on bettering ourselves, we can contribute to a stronger society,” he remarked.
The event also saw the participation of Nandakumari K.P., Head of the Chemistry Department, along with faculty members and students.
The program was hosted by student Sindhu, with Vaidehi and Poorvi leading the prayer. Chandrika delivered the welcome address, while G.V. Chandan offered the vote of thanks.
