Human Chain in Dakshina Kannada on Sept 15
Mangaluru, Sept 13, 2024: As part of the International Day of Democracy celebrations on September 15, a massive human chain will be formed in Dakshina Kannada district, stretching from Hejamadi Toll Gate to Sullia Sampaje Gate.
The human chain, covering a distance of 130 kilometers along the national highway, will witness the participation of over one lakh people. The chain will pass through key locations including Mulki, Surathkal, Baikampady, Nanthoor, Padil, B.C. Road, Puttur, and Sullia.
Participants are expected to line up for the human chain from 9:30 a.m. to 9:37 a.m. The event will include various activities: from 9:37 a.m. to 9:40 a.m., the state anthem will be sung, followed by speeches from chief guests from 9:41 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. The reading of the Preamble to the Constitution will take place from 9:55 a.m. to 9:57 a.m., after which participants will hold hands to form the chain until 9:59 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., the event will conclude with participants raising their hands and shouting “Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka” before disbanding the chain.
The district administration has made all necessary preparations for this massive human chain event. Students, youth, members of various organizations, officials, and the public are set to participate in large numbers.
Additional police forces have been deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow and manage the event efficiently.
