Karwar: DC Flags Off Cyclothon
Karwar, August 13, 2024: In observance of India’s 78th Independence Day, as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative, Karwar hosted a “Cyclothon” on Tuesday.
The event was organized by the District Administration in collaboration with the Uttar Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture Department, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, Police Department, and the Karwar Bicycle Club.
Uttara Kannada Deputy Commission Lakshmi Priya flagged off the event from the DC office premises. The cyclothon aimed to promote fitness and patriotism among the community.
The event saw participation from Additional DC Prakash Rajput, Chief Accounts Officer Anand Sa Habib, Tahsildar Nishchal Noronha, Assistant Director of the Youth Empowerment and Sports Department Ravi, and Dr. Suresh Bhat, President of the Karwar Bicycle Club. Members of the Bicycle Club and students from local schools and colleges also joined in.
