Republic Day Preparations in Full Swing in Uttara Kannada
Karwar, Jan 17, 2024: Additional Deputy Commissioner Prakash Rajput has issued directives to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for a meaningful Republic Day celebration.
Addressing the Republic Day preparatory meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office auditorium today, Rajput emphasized the importance of organizing the event meticulously. The Republic Day celebration is scheduled to take place, as tradition dictates, on January 26 at the Police Parade Ground. The district in-charge minister will hoist the national flag at 9 am.
Rajput instructed that the event should adhere to protocol, featuring parades by police, forest, coast guard, home guards, NCC, scouts, and guides. Stressing the significance of involving students from government schools in the later cultural program, he directed officials from the Department of Public Instruction to prioritize them.
Highlighting the adherence to protocol, Rajput called for the preparation of invitation cards, inviting representatives of people’s representatives and dignitaries. He mandated the participation of school and college students, along with district and taluk level officers and staff. Various sub-committees have been formed to ensure the success of the program.
The meeting saw the presence of G. Panchayat Chief Planning Officer Vinod Anvekar, Tahsildar Nischal Narona, Municipal Commissioner Chandramouli, and officials from various departments.
