Applications Invited for Temporary Firecracker Sale Licenses
Mangaluru, October 07, 2023: The Deputy Commissioner’s Office is inviting applications from the interested public, for the issuance of temporary licenses to sell firecrackers in designated open areas and grounds (outside the limits of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate), in accordance with the Explosives Act and Rules pertaining to firecracker sales during festivals.
This temporary license will be valid from November 11 to November 14 for the Diwali festival and on November 24 for the Tulasi Puja festival. All applications must be submitted by November 6; any received thereafter will not be considered.
Applications should be made in the prescribed format AE-5 and should include a blueprint of the proposed shop location, a photograph of the applicant, and a consent letter from the landowner (On Rs. 20 stamp paper, if the proposed land is not government-owned). In the case of government-owned land, a no-objection certificate from the relevant department must be provided.
A fee of Rs. 200 is applicable at the time of application as verification fee. License grant fees of Rs. 500 must be paid while receiving license. Additionally, applicants must furnish a no-objection certificate from the district fire department, the superintendent of police, the relevant tahsildar, and the concerned local bodies.
Only the sale of green crackers will be permitted. If the necessary no-objection certificates are obtained from the relevant departments, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office will grant permission, contingent on compliance with the provisions of the Explosives Act and adherence to COVID-19 government guidelines.
The Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate emphasized that applications received after November 6, as well as incomplete applications, will not be considered under any circumstances.
