A Glorious Rebirth: Sri Krishna Chatra Shines Anew in Sri Krishna Mutt’s Renovation Endeavor
Udupi, June 28, 2023: In a momentous revival, Sri Krishna Chatra adjacent to the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Mutt has undergone a remarkable transformation, breathing new life into its tranquil ambiance.
Led by Sri Vidyasagaa Tirtha Sripadaru, the Paryaya Peetadhipati, an exquisite ceremony marked the dedication of this renovated structure to Lord Krishna in the presence of Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha Sripadaru of Kaniyooru Matha, Sri Eeshapriya Tirtha Sripadaru of Adamaru Matha and Sri Vedavardhana Tirtha Sripadaru of Shirooru Matha.
Originally constructed back in 1966 under the guidance of the former Seer of Shirooru Matha, the Chatra was in bad condition. However, this tale of dilapidation has now transformed into a narrative of rejuvenation. Meticulously undertaken at a cost of around Rs 3.5 crore with the help of Canara Bank and devotees, the comprehensive renovation has breathed new life into the Sri Krishna Chatra.
Imbued with modern amenities, the revamped Sri Krishna Chatra has been meticulously designed to offer a haven of comfort and convenience for visitors. On the ground floor, a thoughtfully furnished room awaits VIPs seeking respite, while a spacious green room caters to the needs of artists. A dedicated rest area for newspapers and media personnel ensures a conducive environment for their work. Ascending to the upper floors, one discovers a collection of 28 rooms thoughtfully crafted to accommodate the Mutt’s diligent staff, accompanied by well-appointed bathrooms and toilets.
The inaugural function witnessed a gathering of eminent personalities.
