Manipal Academy of Higher Education celebrates Founders’ Day
Manipal, May 01, 2023: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and other institutions of the Manipal Group, including Dr T.M.A Pai Foundation, Academy of General Education (AGE), Manipal Media Network Limited, and Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG), celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of Dr TMA Pai, the founder of the Manipal Group, on Sunday, April 30th, 2023. The Founder’s Day celebration included several programs that began with a floral tribute to Dr T.M.A Pai by all the dignitaries.
Sri Vishvaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, Sri Pejavara Adhokshaja Mutt, Udupi, was the chief guest of the event, and other dignitaries from the Manipal Group, such as Dr Ranjan R Pai, Registrar, AGE, President-MAHE & Chairman, MEMG, Bengaluru, Mrs Vasanti R Pai, Trustee, MAHE Trust, Dr H S Ballal, President, AGE, Manipal & Pro Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal, Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, Mr T Satish U Pai, Executive Chairman, Manipal Media Network Ltd, Manipal & Vice President, AGE, Manipal and Mr T Ashok Pai, President, Dr T.M.A Pai Foundation, Manipal, along with other senior officials of the Manipal Group, attended the celebration.
Dr T.M.A Pai’s legacy was remembered and honoured through the Founder’s Day celebration, which is observed every year on April 30th. Dr T.M.A Pai, who transformed the barren hilltop of Manipal into an education hub of international fame, was a self-made man with a dream and vision to confront and address three fundamental issues facing society-poverty, illness, and illiteracy.
Speaking about the Founder’s Day celebration, Dr Ranjan R Pai, Registrar, AGE, President-MAHE & Chairman, MEMG, Bengaluru, said, “We honour our founder, Dr. T.M.A. Pai, today. Manipal Group currently stands out and is the pioneer in the domains of education and healthcare because of his dedication and efforts to achieve this dream. We intend to keep offering the people of this nation top-notch healthcare and educational services. We’ll continue working hard to serve and take his legacy forward.”
The Chief Guest, His Holiness Sri Vishvaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, Sri Pejavara Adhokshaja Mutt, Udupi, addressed the audience and spoke about Dr T.M.A Pai’s incredible vision and how he transformed the Indian Education System. He commended the current leadership and other members of Manipal for their commitment to improving society and serving the community.
Dr H S Ballal, President, AGE, Manipal & Pro Chancellor, MAHE, welcomed the gathering, and Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor, MAHE, shared his pride in MAHE’s progress in upholding Dr T.M.A Pai’s principles. The Manipal family aims to continue following Dr T.M.A Pai’s vision to practise patience and perseverance to provide a high-quality education and a secure environment for their students to thrive.
