Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji and M.S. Mahabaleshwar Rao Receive Honorary Doctorates at Srinivas University’s Convocation Day
Mangaluru, April 20, 2023: The fifth annual convocation day of Srinivas University was held on Thursday, April 20, at the Mukka campus.
Sri Sri Vidyaprasanna Theertha Swamiji received a Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) and blessed the graduates with his words. He emphasized the importance of using the gift of intelligence wisely, which is the greatest gift from God.
Former Managing Director of Karnataka Bank, M.S. Mahabaleshwar Rao, received a Doctor of Letters (honoris causa) and spoke about the importance of passion towards one’s profession as the greatest gratitude a student can give to their university.
Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Dr. MK Ramesh, congratulated Srinivas University Chancellor Raghavendra Rao for his contribution to the education field and urged students to stay updated with technology. Dr. A Raghavendra Rao, encouraged students to have high goals and strive to achieve them in his presidential address.
Srinivas University Vice Chancellor, Dr. P.S. Aithal, presented the annual report, and the oath was administered by Srinivas University Board of Governors Trustee member, Prof. A. Mithra S Rao. The event saw 1050 students graduating, including 33 Gold Medalists, 125 Rank students, 12 Ph.Ds, 3 D.Sc, and 1 D.Lite.
Srinivas University Pro Chancellor, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, welcomed the gathering, while Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. Other notable attendees included Srinivas University Board of Governors Trustee member, A. Vijayalakshmi Rao, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr. Shrinivas Mayya, Registrar (Development) Dr. Ajay Kumar, among others.
The event was hosted by Dr. Ambika Mallya, Dr. Vijayalakshmi Nayak, Dr. Padmavathi Prabhu, and Prof. Rohan Fernandes.
