Assembly Elections 2023: 13 Nominations Filed in Udupi District
Udupi, April 17, 2023: Thirteen nominations were filed in the Udupi district on the third day of filing nominations for the 2023 assembly elections. Candidates from various parties are vying for positions across the region.
For the Byndoor assembly constituency, Gururaja Shetty of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prasad of the Uttama Prajakiya Party have filed their nominations. Meanwhile, Arun Deepak Mendonsa of the Uttama Prajakiya Party and Kiran Kumar Kodgi of the Bharatiya Janata Party have filed three nominations for the Kundapur assembly constituency.
Congress candidate Prasad Raj Kanchan and Independent candidate Krishnamurthy Acharya have thrown their hats into the ring for the Udupi assembly constituency. Gurme Suresh Shetty of the Bharatiya Janata Party has filed two nominations for the Kapu assembly constituency, while Mohammed Haneef has filed his nomination papers as a candidate for the Democratic Party of India.
Vidyalakshmi, running as an independent candidate, has filed two nominations for the Karkala assembly constituency.
To date, 20 nominations have been filed in the district, with three for the Byndoor assembly constituency, six for the Kundapur assembly constituency, four for the Udupi assembly constituency, three for the Kapu assembly constituency, and four for the Karkala assembly constituency.
The deadline for filing nominations is April 20, with the scrutiny of nominations taking place on April 21. Candidates may withdraw their candidature until April 24. The election season is heating up, and residents across the Udupi district are eager to see who will come out on top.
