 SDM College’s NSS Special Camp at Parlani Concludes on a High Note

Ujire, April 07, 2023: The spirit of service and volunteerism was alive and well at DKZP Higher Primary School, Parlani where the annual NSS special camp of SDM College in Ujire was held from March 30 to April 5.

The camp was a resounding success, with a variety of programs designed to serve the community.
The closing ceremony of the camp was held on Wednesday, April 5, with a host of dignitaries and community members in attendance.

SDM College Vice-Principal Prof. Shanti Prakash who was the chief guest, praised the volunteers for their selflessness and dedication to the cause of service.

“The National Service Scheme teaches volunteers co-existence, discipline, and punctuality. Volunteers have set an example for others with their actions,” he said.

H. S Virupakshappa, Block Education Officer, Belthangady, also lauded the efforts of the volunteers, calling them “disciplined sepoys” who are always ready to serve.

The headmaster of Parlani School, Thammaiah. B commended the volunteers for their systematic approach to all the development work required for the school.

The event was attended by many other dignitaries, including the former principal of SDM College, P. N. Udayachandra, Parlani School Development, and Monitoring Committee Chairman Krishna Prasad, Senior Teachers Shanti D’Souza and Mr. Keshava, Milk Producers’ Co-operative Society Charmadi president Keshava, and CRP Prashanth Kumar.

The program was moderated by the volunteer Sinchana. NSS Officer Dr. Lakshmi Narayana K. S welcomed the gathering and delivered the vote of thanks. NSS officer Prof. Deepa R. P was present.
