Urogynecology, also known as Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, is a misunderstood and under-appreciated sub-specialty that deals with the health and disorders of the female pelvic floor. Common disorders such as Pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence affect nearly half of all women worldwide.
The goal of URVASHE is to bring together the experts of Urogynecology in India to align their goals and facilitate the exchange of ideas. On the first day, the focus was on academic sessions that debunked many myths about Urogynecology. On the second day, the focus was on advanced treatment modalities and management of pelvic floor disorders, with case discussions and debates by residents and fellows moderated by Dr. Deeksha Pandey and visiting faculty.
The conference was a success and participants left the event enriched with new knowledge.
