Mangaluru International Airport celebrates 74th Republic Day with patriotic displays
Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2023: Mangaluru International Airport celebrated the 74th Republic Day with patriotic pride and enthusiasm. The celebration, which was attended by various stakeholders of the airport, marked the adoption of the Constitution as the guiding principle and roadmap for the nation’s progress.
The Airport Security Group (ASG) personnel of CISF put on a synchronized display of their training, ranging from obedience and duty displayed by the canine squad to the high-voltage Israeli martial art form of Krav Maga and a power-packed display of reflex shooting techniques.
The ASG personnel also demonstrated the means they use to control their mind and body through yoga, which serves as a tool for physical and mental fitness in discharging their onerous duties. The display reassured the stakeholders that the airport environment is secure and that the ASG personnel can deal with any emergent situation.
The highlight of the celebration was the induction of Max and Ranger, Belgian Malinois, into the canine squad of CISF at the airport. Max won the first prize in the batch of dogs trained at CRPFs Dog Breeding and Training School at Taralu, Bengaluru, and Ranger won the second prize. The event ended with cultural programs and an impressive drive-past by operational vehicles and equipment of the airport.
Kishore Alva, Executive Director (Projects & Corporate Affairs), was the chief guest, who unfurled the national tricolor and delivered the Republic Day message.
Also present were Kishor Kumar, in-charge Chief Airport Security Officer and deputy commandant, CISF, heads of departments from the airport, representatives of airline, government agencies.
