Airport aims to fasten the movement of passengers, right from the entry to the boarding gate

Mumbai, Jan 24, 2023: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has installed 2D barcode readers at the entry gates of Terminals 1 & 2 in order to improve passenger experience and streamline the entry process.

Starting on January 26th, 2023, CISF officers will scan the barcodes of passengers’ tickets or boarding passes instead of manually checking them at the Terminal entry gates.

The airport handles over 900 flight movements per day and welcomes around 150,000 passengers daily. The new technology not only enhances security but also improves overall efficiency, which is crucial for an airport that handles approximately 48 million passengers annually.

CSMIA has a long-standing reputation for providing exceptional services and continues to set the standard in the industry. The airport’s goal is to offer a memorable experience for all passengers by providing comfort and convenience. CSMIA is constantly developing its infrastructure and has been at the forefront of enhancing capacity and creating robust processes. With a focus on advanced technology, the airport aims to be a ‘Gateway to Goodness’ and facilitate a flow in passengers’ movement throughout.
