Mangaluru, Jan 10, 2023: Gandhi Shilp Bazaar Exhibition cum sale of Handicrafts 2023 was inaugurated at Hotel Woodlands today.

The exhibition and sale of handicrafts of artisans from different states is organized by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited.

Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated the event.

“There are many craftsmen professions that have been traditionally existing in India. Such an exhibition will help in introducing our craftsmanship to the people. Prime Minister has stressed ‘Local for Vocal.’ Through this, he wants to recognize the expertise of the local talents. It will also help in providing a market for their handicrafts,” he added.

Rupa Moudgil, Managing Director, Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation said that the stalls of 100 artisans from different states across the country have been put up.

The exhibition cum sale will be open from 10 am to 8.30 pm till January 18.

The 10-day-long handicrafts exhibition will include handmade decorative items, handwork sarees, Solapur chappals, Chenpatna dolls, handmade paper covers, and others.
