Namma Clinic inaugurated at Sutarpet
Mangaluru, Dec 14, 2022: A healthy society is very important for sustainable development. A healthy society can be built only with a healthy body, said Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kumar.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of Namma Clinic at Samaja Bhavan, Sutarpet today.
The program was organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
“A strong body and a healthy mind are conducive to development. A strong nation is possible with a healthy society. The project provides healthcare at the doorstep of the people. No development activities of any kind are possible in the presence of illness. As many as 114 Namma Clinics have been inaugurated simultaneously by our Chief Minister to provide uninterrupted quality health services to the poor and the common man. This will help in creating a healthy society,” he said.
“In the last one-and-a-half years under the National Health Mission scheme, 368 community health officers have been appointed at the sub-centers. They are going door-to-door to check the health,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M.R, Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, Chief Whip Premananda Shetty, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. B.S. Kishore Kumar, local corporator Bharath Kumar and former whip Sudhir Shetty spoke on the occasion.
Municipal Commissioner Akshy Sridhar, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Sujay, and Municipal Health Officer; Manjayya Shetty participated. District Health Education Officer Jyothi K Ulepadi welcomed the gathering.
