Shirva, Nov 12, 2022: NCC Unit of St. Mary’s College, Shirva, and 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi jointly organized Swachhata Shramadan – a mass cleanliness drive today.

The Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation has launched the ‘Swachh Survekshana Gramin-2022’, a mass movement program to improve rural sanitation, under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and hygiene among the rural community.

As part of the event, College NCC officer Lt Praveen Kumar administered the Swachhata Survekshan pledge to the participants. He guided the cleanliness drive.

In his presidential address Principal of the college, Dr. Herald Ivan Monis lauded the NCC unit for organizing the event.

Cadet Pooja Shetty spoke on cleanliness and explained the importance of the program. All the cadets cleaned the premises of the post office and Primary Health Center.

NCC Junior Under-Officer Lobo Ann Riya Neville, Dheeraj Acharya, Company Sergeant Quartermaster Ashish Prasad, Sergeant Deepak, Ryan D’Souza, Corporal Riya Serina D’Souza, Cadet Anup Nayak, Alistar Sujay D’Souza were present.

The event was attended by 21 Karnataka Battalion NCC Udupi Subedar Tejendra Kumar of Cudupi, BHM Raja Saab H, Director of Student Welfare of the College Yashoda, and all the cadets. Cadet Sonali Kulal welcomed the gathering and Senior Under Officer Mohit N Salian delivered the vote of thanks. Lance Corporal Shettigar Hemashri Sudarshan compered the program.
