Udupi, Oct 05, 2022: Vijayadashami, the 10th day of Ashwayuja Masa, which marks the last day of the Dasara celebration has a special significance in Udupi as it also marks the appearance day of Sri Madhvacharya.

Madhvacharya, the proponent of Tatvavada was born in Pajaka, a small village about 10 km south of Udupi. The only source which gives a detailed picture of his life is ‘Sri Madhva Vijaya,’ the biography written by his disciple Sri Narayana Pandicharya.

The biography mentions the younger days of Sri Madhvacharya, his achievements, and the places he visited.

The birthday of Acharyaru is celebrated by his devotees around the world.

At Udupi Sri Krishna Matha ‘Tene Habba,’ is celebrated on this day when the Rice ears are tied at the entrance and various places. It is also distributed among the devotees.
