Motorcycle cum Trek Expedition on the occasion of 196th Gunners’ Day
New Delhi, Sept 10, 2022: The Regiment of Artillery commemorates 196th Gunners’ Day, the raising of its first Artillery Unit, 5 Bombay Mountain Battery in 1827.
A 12 days Motorcycle cum Trek Expedition comprising of 10 riders from Pune to New Delhi was organised under the aegis of Artillery Directorate. The ‘Agnibaaz Brigade’ roaring riders were flagged off by Major General Anoop Jakhar, General Officer Commanding, Agnibaaz Division from Pune on 10 September 2022.
The objective of this team will be to inculcate a sense of pride and achievement amongst all ranks of Indian Artillery, promote camaraderie, leadership and strengthen the spirit of adventure amongst soldiers and students. The expedition will further seek to project the image of Indian Army and contribution of Regiment of Artillery in various wars and campaigns.
