Mental health awareness program held at Karwar Naval Base
Karwar, Sept 03, 2022: A mental health awareness program was held at Karwar Naval Base.
Surg Cdr Priyadarshi Patra gave a talk on Mental Health Awareness to educate and prepare the children and parents to successfully handle the emotional turmoil associated with puberty.

Training for all Principal Medical Officers (PMOs) & Unit Mental Health Resilience Coordinators (UMHRCs) was also undertaken to implement the Indian Navy Strategy for Mental Health Assistance Resilience and Training (IN-SMART) at Karwar Naval Base.

More than 200 couples and adolescent children along with NWWA committee members enthusiastically participated in the lecture sessions. Goolrukh Anand, President NWWA, Karnataka Naval Area was the Chief Guest. The preventive mental health program including lectures and training followed by interactive counseling sessions reiterated the importance of good mental health to achieve happiness even in a stressful life.
