Uttara Kannada DC chairs CRZ meeting
Karwar, Aug 25, 2022: Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan said that unless the Coastal Regulation Zone Committee gives its nod for any kind of building or works falling within the CRZ jurisdiction, no department should provide an NOC to any project.
The DC asked the CRZ officials to write a letter to all the departments about this.
He was speaking after presiding over a meeting of Uttara Kannada district CRZ Committee held at his office today.
“The issue of issuing no-objection certificates should be discussed with local level panchayat development officers and tourism department officials and an appropriate decision should be taken. Notice should be issued to those who have violated the CRZ rules. There should be accurate figures of applications that have so far been cleared by CRZ and transferred to the State Level Committee,” he said.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Priyanga M, Municipal Commissioner R P Naik, and CRZ officials were present.
