Man killed in Surathkal, Section imposed

Mangaluru, July 28, 2022: Section 144 has been imposed in Mangaluru City Police limits after Fazil of Mangalpet was brutally attacked and killed near Surathkal on Thursday.

Police Commissioner said that a person was attacked by a group of about 3-4 people outside a shop in Surathkal-MRPL road on Thursday.

Fazil was standing outside the shop around 8.30- 9 pm when a group of about four men who got from a car attacked him with lethal weapons. Though Fazil tried to escape the group continued to chase him and continued to attack. The CCTV clipping of this incident has gone viral on the social media.

Fazil who was critically injured was taken to hospital. He was later declared dead.

Section 144 has been imposed in City Police limits till 6 am on July 30. As a precautionary measure the Police Commissioner has asked the schools and colleges of Panambur, Surathkal, Mulki and Bajpe police station limits to declare holiday on Friday.
