Katipalla attack case: Police arrest three
Small argument on a trivial issue ended up in attack
Mangaluru, Jan 28, 2021: Surathkal Police have arrested three persons in connection to the assault case that took place at Katipalla yesterday night.
A person identified as Jabid was attacked near Ganeshpura temple on Wednesday night around 10.45 pm when he was on a two-wheeler with his friends.
Based on the case that was filed at Surathkal police station, police have arrested Raju (20) and Abhishek (18), and Shrinivas (20) of Katipalla 1st block.
Police said that Shrinivas is already accused in three cases and Raju in two cases.
The small knife used for the attack has been seized along with the vehicle.
According to police, the three had an argument with with Jabid on some trivial issue. The argument turned into blows when one of them attacked Jabid with the knife.
The immediate action by the police has received appreciation from the public.
“Surathkal is a sensitive place. Delay in arrest would have raised to various theories including communal angle. Thanks to the police who have arrested the accused within 24 hours,” Sharath of Surathkal said.
