Nitte trains ICG personnel on first aid and emergency care
Mangaluru, July 26, 2022: Indian Coast Guard personnel from Ships and Shore Billets were provided training on first aid and emergency care on Tuesday.
The program was held in association with Nitte (Deemed to be University) as part of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.” As many as 30 personnel were provided with the training.

“Healthcare concerns should be viewed holistically and ensuring health for all is the necessity of the hour. We must educate the communities about healthcare. This necessitates selfless service, dedication, care, and sincere love for humanity’s cause,” said N Vinay Hegde, chancellor of Nitte (Deemed to be a University).
Dr. Sateesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor stated that most health-related issues are the result of ignorance and a lack of understanding.

The ‘Apathbandhu’ is a new concept where the University has proposed to train rural volunteers in first aid and emergency treatment. The same program has been designed to train ICG Personnel.
Coast Guard Karnataka thanked the initiatives by NITTE.
